Lagos is pleased to invite you to the first open studio of its second artist in residence.
Kristin Reger has a background in textiles and fashion theory, and her work explores the relationship between costume and sculpture. Her body and her flesh are references to the dimensions, tones, and textures of the forms she creates. In her experimentation with materials, she allows them to contribute to the shapes and textures of what become autonomous objects.
Anna Foran describes the artist’s work as “… the result of slapping, bending, spinning and beating, but also of the room, of the floor, of the mind as a material conspirator”.
During her two-month residence at lagos, Kristin is developing new work, following her exploration of modelling with textiles, and creating glazes that uncover new textures into ceramic objects.
Kristin Reger is a current PhD in Visual Arts candidate at UNAM, Mexico City.
