For the fourth edition of Local 1800, Lagos presents the second franchise of MALL (blue edition) in Mexico and invites Kristin Reger for a site-specific intervention.
Reger works in a diversity of media, performance, sculpture and textiles being some of her main. For this intervention, the artist has created a large-scale wall-hanging of lavish fabrics that barges into the space, reassuming resources present in her ceramics sculptures, visceral shapes in bodily color palettes and organic textures.
MALL is an experimental retail space focused on art-wearables; it’s a place for performance, art, fashion and story-telling. It was born with the aim to insert itself into the dynamics of commercial businesses and fashion, addressing and understanding them as suitable fields to explore the products of daily use as spaces to exchange knowledge and information.
Lagos invites these projects and artists to Local 1800 in an effort to present relevant art initiatives before a broader audience.
Special thanks to Tequila 1800 for their support to the arts in Mexico.
