Born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil in 1991, Joao Rietmann lives and works in São Paulo. The investigation of the human figure, its construction, distortion and deconstruction, is the foundation of Rietmann's work. Traditional media, such as drawing, collage, and painting, are used analytically to process images and bring materiality to them. His work strives to research the human form, drawing parallels about social concepts through images that reside in figurative representations.
